Reactions Have Two Parts
Chemical vs. Physical Reactions
- Composition is the main aspect that distinguishes the difference between the reactions
- Physical reactions do not change what the substance is
- physical changes are changes that result in a difference in display without changing the composition.
- Chemical reactions occur when a new substance is formed and energy is either given off or absorbed.
- chemical changes occur when the substance's composition is changed. When bonds are broken and new ones are formed a chemical change occurs
There are Five Types of Chemical Reactions which are all described on the tabs at the top of the webpage. Click each tab to find out what makes each of them different.
